Anna-Lisa's sudden death is a shock to the siblings and her will contains unexpected demands, forcing Lasse, Oskar and Jonna to remain and work at the guesthouse against their will. At the same time something in Stockholm is pulling the noose tighter around Lasse's neck. Suddenly the siblings face their longest summer ever.

Jonna disappears and the will risks being annulled if she does not return to the house. Meanwhile, Lasse wants to finish the pool while he is there - but Oskar forbids it because he fears a dark secret will be uncovered.

Lasse will not get any insurance money after the restaurant fire and creditors come to the guest house. Oskar becomes jealous when Liv defends Lasse, but is forced to still help him. Jonna finds sanctuary in amateur theatre and new boyfriend Mikael Rosen. Kim becomes aware of a family feud.

The lodging house gets into shape for a big wedding reception in midsummer. However, the event causes unforeseen problems for Oscar, who is trying to be on his best behavior towards Liv. Meanwhile, Jonna gets an unexpected visit, which only complicates matters further.

Lasse and Liv are finding it hard to keep their hands off each other and Oskar has noticed. However, he's got bigger things to worry about when some divers arrive at the lodge in search of a shipwreck. Lasse is interviewed by the police and Oskar realizes that his brother had something to do with the restaurant fire. He threatens to tell the authorities what he knows unless Lasse keeps well away from Liv. Meanwhile, Oskar's worst fears are confirmed when the divers return with news of a gruesome discovery.

Oskar is nervous about the results from the DNA tests which have been delayed. Is it Mauritz that the divers found? Lasse has problems clearing himself of arson. Kim's birthday takes an unexpected turn. Before the theatre premiere Jonna tries to mend her relationship with Mikael Rosén.

Jonna has a dark secret of her own and uses it to bargain with her neighbor Mildred, convincing her not to sell her land. Lasse tries to buy his childhood friend's silence but ends up getting pulled deeper into an underworld he's tried hard to avoid. Oskar catches Liv out in a lie, but is relieved to learn that the recovered dead body is not that of his father. However, his peace of mind is short-lived when he receives an anonymous, threatening message.

Oskar's paranoia goes into overdrive as the blackmail continues, so he confesses his secret to a solicitor and seeks her help. Lasse and Liv can no longer resist each other and finally rekindle their love. Oskar is determined to get his brother away from the island and offers to write off his debts. Jonna is furious when she discovers that Manne's latest play is based on events close to home, but he's had enough of the island and forces her to choose between him and her family.

Oskar knows that Liv is lying and suspects that she was thinking of leaving him. He intends to confront Lasse once and for all, no matter the cost. Liv finally discovers Lasse's true self and makes a decision. It's just days away. Can the siblings hold on to get the inheritance?
